- Suvaxyn PCV2 from Fort Dodge Animal Health can help keep the effects of PCV2 away from your herd and your profits
- Suvaxyn PCV2 is now the only PCV2 vaccine with a USDA approved flexible dosing option. The vaccine can be delivered with either a single 2 mL dose to pigs 3 weeks of age or older – providing at least a four-month duration of immunity (DOI) – or a 1 mL dose at 3 weeks of age followed by a second 1 mL dose three weeks later.
- Vaccinating healthy 3 -to 4-week old pigs with Suvaxyn PCV2 provided significant protection against PCV2 effects compared to unvaccinated control pigs–even though 68% of vaccinated pigs had high to extremely high levels of maternal antibodies at vaccination
- Vaccinated pigs had less evidence of immune system damage than unvaccinated controls, making them less likely to develop PCVAD
- Suvaxyn PCV2 contains a killed virus, so the vaccine virus cannot infect pigs or combine with a field virus
- None of the 1,110 commercial pigs in the prelicensing safety study exhibited adverse reactions to vaccination with Suvaxyn PCV2
