MATERNAL ANTIBODIES
Maternal Antibodies – Critical Control Points: Widespread PCV vaccination and spread of the virus means maternal antibody levels have increased in most herds. Here's how to avoid interference with vaccination programs.
Suvaxyn PCV2 Provides Protection in the Presence of Maternal Antibodies – Technical Review
Because maternal antibodies can affect vaccine efficacy, vaccination timing is important. In this study, vaccination with Suvaxyn PCV2 effectively induced active immunity, even when administered to pigs with moderate to high levels of passively acquired antibodies at vaccination.

TECHNICAL REVIEWS
Field Efficacy Comparisons of Suvaxyn PCV2 and Other Commercial PCV Vaccines
Two field trials were conducted to test one- and two-dose regimens of Suvaxyn PCV2 against the other two leading commercial vaccines. (Carthage Study Two)
Immunogenicity of Suvaxyn PCV2
This bulletin discusses how vaccinating healthy, 4-week-old pigs with Suvaxyn PCV2 effectively prevented PCV2 viremia and reduced PCV2-associated lymphoid depletion compared to unvaccinated pigs.
Safety Testing of Suvaxyn PCV2
This bulletin details the four studies conducted to assess the field safety of vaccinating commercial pigs with Suvaxyn PCV2.
Two Cross-Protection Studies Using Suvaxyn PCV2
In the first study summarized in this bulletin, vaccination with Suvaxyn PCV2 prevented development of mild/preclinical PMWS in pigs challenged with a "new" French pathogen strain six weeks after vaccination. In the second study, vaccinated pigs challenged with PCV2 four months following vaccination had significantly reduced PCV2 viremia, histopathologic lesions and in situ hybridization staining.
Unique Chimeric Formulation of Suvaxyn PCV2
This bulletin describes the chimeric vaccine virus featured in Suvaxyn PCV2 and explains the benefits it offers.
